Writing from the soul.

Writing from the soul. Such an ethereal concept, especially for a Monday morning, but perhaps ethereal should be our goal as writers. When we settle our bones down to write, we ask our loud minds, shallow breathing, and nervous bodies to enter a place of calmness. Not an easy task when the ever-present ego and editor, or "ego editor," has taken up permanent residence on our shoulders. You know that character, the one who never shuts up and who heckles relentlessly until we stop doing that which is most important to us.

Writing from the soul asks us to put that character to sleep, and to tap into a different dimension. Some call it Source, God, Light, a Higher Consciousness, or Divinity (our intuitive sense and calling upon the divine within ourself). Ludwig van Beethoven wrote about it, "Don't only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets, for it and knowledge can raise men to the divine."

When I opened my heart this morning in quiet meditation this writer's tip came through: "Open your heart. The rest will come. Light, trust, and faith."

Give yourself permission this morning to connect with your light. Before you take pen to paper, sit in quiet meditation with five minutes of slow breathing. Use the mantra "light, trust, faith" to slowly allow your ego editor to slip away and your intuitive voice to take center stage. #soul #writerstip#light #mondayquote #naturenurture#selflove #divorcejourney #heartwork#journaling #creativework #meditation#healyourself #intuition #divinity#soulwork
