About Me.
Since I last updated this bio, my mom and cousin-sister passed suddenly within two weeks of each other. I emptied our family home of 25 years to sell in the wake of a significant life transition. And I’ve been awakening from the depression that took root for a time and draped comfortably around my shoulders like a tear-drenched cape.
It’s been a tough couple of years, and I know I am, and was, not alone.
The good news of the day (of 2024!) and beyond is that we can bring back joy into the present and reconnect with our soul’s light and each other in community to experience a very different year.
Many have suffered through the Covid years, the empty nest, the learning to live in the quiet of living with oneself, the passing of those we love, and the journey to rebuild ourselves professionally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. It’s beyond time to step back into the light.
Welcome to Heart Stories. A place of hope, reconnecting with your soul’s light, and a writer’s and artist’s world (of course!). You will find stories, artwork, and photography that touch and heal your heart while learning more about change, creative blocks, depression, grief, and how to get help. And most importantly, you will find your way back to joy, self-love, and living, speaking, creating, and dreaming from the heart.
As the blog and site evolve, we’ll blend some of the old with the new. For February, it’s enough to relaunch our “52 Weeks of Love” essays. It turns out that while love is sometimes pushed deep into the earth, voices and emotions temporarily muted by life’s bewildering waves, love lives.
I invite you to join our community! It’s time to celebrate the light in each other and shepherd back in kindness, compassion, humor, and joy while bringing light to the dark spaces for clearing. By giving voice to our truths and honoring the artists within, we free ourselves to evolve in the safety of the community. Let’s connect! I look forward to meeting you and, if you like, sharing your heart story on the blog. Please email me at hopefulheartstories@gmail.com.
I look forward to meeting you!
